Starting in any DAW can be intimidating, but with the right person at your side it can be an enriching, productive experience every time as you work toward developing a skillset to last a lifetime.
Since the early 2000’s, Ableton Live has dominated the landscape for creating electronic music due to the combination of its revolutionary and intuitive creative workflows along with professional-level audio processing capabilities.
Tropea Studio offers beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons for remote and in-person clients. Key topics are broken into easily digestible learning modules that include practical exercises and all the sounds you need to produce great tracks.
Over time, we will help you develop your own repeatable workflows and sound libraries that align perfectly with your intent, artistic style and musical tastes.
Sessions are taught using Ableton Live (DAW) in combination with a wide variety of plug-ins, outboard instruments and dynamic processing tools.
Each Session lasts for a duration of 2 hours with a 10 minute break. Lessons can be purchased individually or in course bundles.
Repeat any Module as many times as you like to continue learning in a particular area, or select only the ones that interest you.
Lessons are offered Monday. - Friday 9:00am - 7:00pm EST at our physical address, or online over Google Meets
Included with each lesson is a PDF take-away including topics covered which can be compiled into your own knowledge base for future reference.
Lesson Modules
Introduction to Ableton Live
Learn basic functions, Clip and Arrange view, midi recording, warping & launching clips and become familiar the Ableton libraries of drums, sounds and effect plug-ins.
Clip View - Launch Stems
Use Ableton’s extensive sound and instrument library, as well as your vocals, synthesizers and any other sound source to create, modify and effect your own clips.
Arrangement View - Build a Song
Use clips to create intro's, builds, breakdowns and other sections to form a complete song. Automate levels, effects and more to get the details exactly how you want them.
Mixing Tracks & Songs
Use Ableton’s sound processing tools and effects to polish your individual tracks and make the song sound stunning and professional in clubs, cars and headphones.
